What we do with your data
In short: your answers go to our calculation server, which works out your result. You do not need a name or email address for that. If you want the full advice, you give your email address and we keep your advice, so the link in your email works.
This is a translation: if the English and the Dutch version differ, the Dutch version applies.
Who is responsible
StartAndGrow BV in formation (i.o.) is responsible for processing your data on this site. You can reach us at info@startandgrow.nl.
Which data the check uses
The check works with your answers to the questions: for example your revenue, your rate and hours, what you spend on your business, what you need privately, whether you have a tax partner and what is in your business. Those are figures and choices. We never ask for your name or your citizen service number (BSN).
- We only ask for your email address at the end of a check, if you want the full advice by email.
- If you give stars or a comment, or open your report, we keep that with your advice. That shows us what helps.
What we use it for
To calculate and show your result and, if you ask for it, to make and email your full advice. For this, your answers go to our calculation server. We keep every result without name or email address, so we can improve the checks.
We do not use your data for anything else unless you have separately said yes to it, for example to tips or offers by email. Such a box is never ticked in advance, and your result does not depend on whether you say yes. Your yes only counts once you then open your report from the link in your email: that way we know the email address is yours. We record when that happened.
AI explanation with your result
Your result comes with an explanation in plain language. An AI model from Anthropic writes it, based on our calculation. The AI does not calculate anything itself. It only receives the amounts and choices from the check, never your name, email address or IP address. So it only receives anonymous data.
Your situation and language
The setting "I am ..." at the top of the page is stored on your own device, and you can turn it off at any time. When we count visits (see below), we include which situation you chose, without anything that points to you. The language is part of the web address (/en). If you ask for the full advice, we store your situation and language with your advice, so the link in the email shows the site the way you left it.
How long we keep it
- Results and visits without name or email address: 13 months, so we can compare one year with the previous one.
- Your full advice and your email address: the link in your email works for 12 months. After that we keep it for 30 more days, then it is deleted. If you said yes to tips or offers, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.
- Proof that we passed your data to a partner at your request: 2 years.
Partners
StartAndGrow works with partners that help business owners on their way. By default a partner only sees aggregated figures: how many checks were done through their page and how the results are distributed. If you yourself ask to be put in touch with a partner, we pass the data needed for that to that one partner. This only happens after your click, and you see beforehand what is passed on.
Cookies and measuring
This site uses no tracking cookies and therefore does not ask for consent with a cookie banner.
We count visits and checks without name or email address, so we know which pages and checks are used. For this, your browser gets a random code that only exists in this tab (not a cookie) and disappears when you close the tab. For each page we send that code, the page address, the site you came from, the language, your "I am ..." choice, whether you use a phone, tablet or computer, and the campaign code from the link if there was one. We do not store your IP address or email address with this. In addition, Plausible, a European service without cookies, counts in total how many people view which page. If Global Privacy Control or "Do Not Track" is on in your browser, we count nothing.
Who processes your data
The site, the calculation server and the database run on Microsoft Azure in the European Union. 100digital manages the calculation server and sends the email for us. With every party that processes something for us, including Plausible, we have agreements about what that party may and may not do with the data.
Your rights
You can always ask which data we hold about you (access), have it deleted, and withdraw consent you gave earlier. Withdrawing is as easy as giving. Email info@startandgrow.nl.
No decision about you
The result of the check is advice, not a decision with legal effect. How your result comes about is in your report.
